Special Edition – Sur La Route
Description
Commission for Monteoliveto Gallery (2022–2023)
In 2022 and 2023, Andrea Lu took part in the itinerant exhibition Sur la Route, a joint project by Monteoliveto Gallery and Bike for Heritage, bringing together 18 international artists around the themes of travel, slow mobility, heritage, and ecological transition.
Within this framework, she created a drawing conceived as a visual synthesis of the project.
The composition unfolds as a suspended territory animated by the circular movement of the bicycle — a symbol of conscious, respectful travel. Around it, emblematic architectures, landscapes, and fragments of cultural heritage enter into dialogue across different geographies. The monuments are not merely juxtaposed; they are connected through fluid lines of circulation that evoke the road, the breath, and the passage of time.
As in her personal work, Andrea Lu constructs a structured microcosm: a space where nature, architecture, and mobility coexist in dynamic balance. The drawing becomes a sensitive cartography — an invitation to travel differently, to look differently, to slow down.
Presented notably in Naples (Bicycle House, Galleria Principe) and later in Paris, the logo visually embodies the spirit of the project: art as a link between heritage, movement, and ecological awareness.
